A name out of nowhere

The name came out of nowhere, for real. I wasn’t thinking about pets at all. I was trying to name a holding company, boring paperwork stuff, and oMellow just popped into my head. I remember thinking: where did that even come from?

So I looked it up, and it wasn’t taken. A name like that, a clean dot-com, just sitting there? I secured it that same night, and it felt like a sign.

The cat was always there

So now I have the name, and I figure: let me draw a logo out of it. Now, I’m not an artist at all, but I start playing with the letters on notebook paper, connecting the two o’s, then the M and the w. Then I stop, because something is looking back at me.

A cat. I didn’t draw a cat. The letters made her, and all I did was add two dots for the eyes.

Then I saw the rest of it: oMellow, with a whole meow sitting in the name. I didn’t plan any of that. I just noticed it.

Why pets? Honest answer: the brand decided.

I didn’t grow up with pets, and I never planned to sell pet products. But when a cat shows up in your handwriting and you find a meow sitting in your name, you can ignore it or you can follow it. I followed.

I didn’t know the first thing about pet products. So I learned. I read, and I only picked the brands I’d trust in my own home.

So that’s oMellow. A small shop of calming remedies for anxious pets. The ones who struggle with things like fireworks, storms, travel, or time alone. As for the cat? She never left. Look at the logo. Quiet, the way calm should be.
